Our framework for designing this year’s Risk in Education
Conference line up is to present a broad range of topics that meet the
following goals:
- To
create a balance between the presentation of theoretical ideas and
practical tools so participants gain both valuable insights and
concrete examples to use in their own programs.
- To offer
sessions that meet the needs of both new-comers exploring risk
management for the first time as well as to offer more advanced
sessions for the experienced looking for in-depth exploration of
specific risk management issues.
- To create more
opportunities for participants to share experiences with others both
inside and outside the education community who are engaged in risk
management practices.
- To inspire participants to continue to develop risk-based education experiences in outside-the-classroom learning environments.
To help us reach our goals we have developed the following initiatives:
- Specialist
High Skills Major (SHSM) Workshop Series - Exploring RM issues related
to the Ontario's Student Success, SHSM Program.
- Integrated
Risk Management Workshop Series - Taking the RM discussion to the next
level by focusing on exploring specific topics in detail.
- Looking Beyond – Learning from organizations outside the education community.
- Core Competencies – Risk management 101 - risk-related topics everyone needs to know.
