Professor, Algonquin College
Jeff Jackson is a professor and coordinator with Algonquin College’s
Outdoor Adventure Program, a professional adventure guide training
diploma. He has worked as a guide, educator and program manager for 15
years, crossing a variety of disciplines, outdoor activities and
corporate cultures.
He has a degree in Business Administration and a
Master of Education specializing in professional development. His
thesis work focused on developing judgment through the use of case
study analysis. Work experience includes course leading and management
positions with Outward Bound (Colorado), the National Outdoor
Leadership School, and numerous commercial outfitters. Mr. Jackson is
the former head of certification for White-Water Ontario, writes a
regular river conservation column for Rapid Magazine, and sits on the
OTMP Outdoor Products Committee. He works as a consultant for staff
training and risk management projects, speaks extensively on
risk-related topics, and has several published articles.
