Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) Funding Available
We have received a new round of SHSM funding for the 2010 conference!
Algonquin College has obtained funding to assist participants attending the conference for the purposes of supporting SHSM program development at their boards. This funding was made available through PASS (Partnering to Articulate Student Success) which is a SCWI (School/ College/ Work Initiative).
If you meet the following criteria you may be eligible for a one-time $250 bursary to put towards the 2010 Risk in Education Conference fees:
You are a teacher or administrator with one of the following boards:
Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
Ottawa Catholic District School Board (OCSB)
Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB)
Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO)
Limestone District School Board (LDSB)
Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB)
Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB)
Renfrew County Catholic District School Board) (RCCDSB)
Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB)
You are involved with the delivery or the support of an SHSM program for the board:
In order to qualify for the funding you must meet all the above requirements. The funding allotment will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
The procedure to apply for funding is as follows:
1. Complete the Risk in Education Conference on-line registration form
2. Be sure to check off the “Apply for SHSM bursary of $250”
3. Indicate your school board
4. Select the various conference options you are registering for
5. Include a brief summary of how you meet the funding criteria
6. Complete the registration process
5. Our office will deduct the $300 bursary from your total once we verify your funding eligibility
Note: We have a limited number of bursaries available. They will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
